Tatjana Petrov is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Trieste, in the Department of Mathematics, Informatics and Geosciences, Italy. She is also a visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior (Radolfzell, Germany) and an affiliate member of the Centre for the Advanced Study of Collective Behaviour at the University of Konstanz, Germany. Previously, she was a Junior Professor of Computer Science at the University of Konstanz (2017–2023), where she led the research group Modelling Complex, Self-Organising Systems and was a principal investigator in the Centre for the Advanced Study of Collective Behaviour. From 2013 to 2017, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA), supported by SNSF and ISTFellow fellowships, working with the groups of Thomas A. Henzinger and Calin Guet. She obtained her PhD in 2013 from ETH Zürich, working with Heinz Koeppl within the SystemsX.ch initiative. During her academic career, she held research visits at Harvard Medical School, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), École Normale Supérieure (ENS Paris), and the University of Oxford. Tatjana obtained her BSc and MSc degrees in Computer Science from the University of Novi Sad, Serbia. Her work on the formal analysis of gene regulatory networks received the ETAPS EASST Best Paper Award.
